Safe to use electro stimulation on nipples?

There's a lot of mixed messages, other forums seem to suggest its okay, whilst the product manufacturers warn against it, but are they just doing this to safeguard themselves should someone have an accident? Is it really okay to e-stim on the nipples, chest and above the waist?
